The Formation of eukaryotic cells was the second in significance (after life itself) evolutionary event. The main and fundamental difference of eukaryotes from prokaryotic organisms is the presence of an improved system for the genome. Thanks to the emergence and development of the cell nucleus has dramatically increased the degree of flexibility of single-celled organisms to the regularly changing conditions of existence and the ability to adapt very quickly without any significant genetic change in the gene system.

Eukaryotic cell

Eukaryotic cell, the cytoplasm of which is an area of active metabolic processes, safely separated from the storage area, the reading and replication of genetic information, was able to further biological evolution. This is a landmark and momentous evolutionary event, according to scientists, occurred not later than 2.6 billion years ago at the junction of two geological milestones – the Archean and Proterozoic.

Structure cell

Increase the adaptability and sustainability of biological structures is a prerequisite for full biological evolution. Because of its high capacity for adaptation of the eukaryotic cell was able to evolve to multicellular organisms with a complex structural organization. Indeed, in multicellular biological systems, cells with the same genome, adapting to changing conditions and form were completely different in their morphological properties and functionality of the tissue. This is the great evolutionary victory of eukaryotes, which has led to the emergence of such a Grand diversity of life forms on the planet and exit on the evolutionary stage of the person.

eukaryotic cell Organelles

The structure of the eukaryotic type has some unique features, not peculiar to the prokaryotes. Eukaryotic cell contains a large amount of genetic material (90%), which is concentrated in the chromosomal structures, which ensures their differentiation and specialization. Any eukaryotic cell characterized by the presence of a separate nucleus. This is the main feature of cells of this type. Another important difference from prokaryotes are the organelles in eukaryotic cells – permanent and diverse intracellular structures.

Eukaryotic cell compared to a prokaryotic has a more complex system of perception of various substances. In nature there is no universal typical eukaryotic cell type. They are all characterized by an incredible diversity that is due to the need for evolutionary adaptation. A very important feature of eukaryotes is the compartmentalization inherent in them – the localization of biochemical processes in individual cell compartments separated by an intracellular membrane. Eukaryotes have a number of complex structural components. Such as system membrane; cytoplasmic matrix, which is the main intracellular substances; cell organelles – main functional components of eukaryotic cells.
