The Neoclassical school – direction is formed in the economic sphere, it appeared in the nineties. To develop for the beginning of the second stage of the marginalistic revolution, and this is due to the creative direction of Cambridge and American schools. They refused to consider the global problem of market in economic terms, and decided to reveal the regularities of the optimal management. So began to develop the neoclassical school.

Idea theory

Development of this course was obtained through the developed methodologies. The main ideas of the neoclassical school:

  • Economic liberalism, “theory”.
  • Margin principles of balance at the micro level and subject to full competition.

Economic phenomenon began to analyze, to evaluate them and it was done on the part of economic entities, that are involved in numerical research methods and applied mathematics.

What is the object of study of economic science?

The object of study were two:

  • “Economics”. The main essence lies in the fact that will need to be distracted from the national, historical forms, types of ownership. All the representatives of the neoclassical school as classic, wanted to keep pure economic theory. They have offered all of the researchers are not guided by non-economic evaluations, since it is completely unjustified.
  • Sphere of exchange. Manufacturing fades into the background, but the decisive element of social reproduction is considered distribution, exchange.

If to speak more precisely, neoclassical, applying the functional approach, to combine the area of production, distribution, and exchange in two equal spheres a holistic system analysis.

What is the subject of study in this course?

the continents

The Neoclassical economic school chose the subject of the study are as follows:

  • Subjective motivation of all the activities in the field of Economics that tries to build to the maximum benefit and to reduce expenses.
  • The Optimal behavior of economic agents in an environment where resources are limited, to better meet the needs of the person.
  • The Problem of establishing patterns of good housekeeping and free competition, the rationale of laws that are put into the pricing policy, wages, income and its distribution in society.

Differences between classical and neoclassical schools

The formation of the neoclassical trend in the economy was possible thanks to the work of British economist named Alfred Marshall. This man developed the “Principles of economist” in 1890 and is considered the legitimate founder of the Anglo-American school of economic science, got good effect in other countries.

The Classics, the main attention was paid to the theory of pricing, and the neoclassical school in the research center was erected the laws of the formation of pricing policy, analysis of market demand and suggestions. It was A. Marshall proposed the formation of a “compromise” direction regarding pricing, completely reworking the concept of Ricardo and linking it with the direction of böhm-Bawerk. Thus was formed a two-factor theory of value, based on the analysis of the relations of supply and demand.

The Neoclassical school has never denied the need for government regulation, and this is just one of the main differences from the classics, but neoclassical believe that the influence should always be limited. The government creates the conditions for business activities and the market process, competitive, able to ensure balanced growth, the equilibrium between requests and supply.

Also worth mentioning that the main difference between the neoclassical economic school is the practical application of graphs, tables, models. They are not only illustrations, but also the main tool for the theoretical analysis.

What can you say about economists-neoclassico?

They Represent a heterogeneous environment. They differ in the area of interest, study the various problems and their solutions. Even different economists have applied techniques, approaches to the analysis of all the activities. It is also a contrast to the classics, which have more homogeneous opinions, insights, who share virtually all representatives of this trend.

Details of the principle from A. Marshall

Alfred Marshall

In the neoclassical school of Economics there is the most important principle of balance that defines the whole concept of this direction. What does the equilibrium in the economy? This conformity, which exists between supply and demand, between needs and resources. Thanks to the price mechanism set limits in consumer demand or increase production volumes. It was A. Marshall introduced the concept of “the equilibrium value” in the economy, which is represented by the point of intersection of the curve of supply and demand. These factors are the main terms of prices and usefulness and costs play an equal role. A. Marshall in his approach takes into account the objective and subjective side. In the short period equilibrium price is formed at the intersection of supply and demand. Marshall argued that the principle of production costs and “ultimate utility” is a key component of the universal law of supply and demand, each of which can be compared with the shear blade.

The Economist wrote that one can argue endlessly with the basis that the price is governed by cost of the production process, how and on what cuts a piece of paper – upper blade scissors, or still lower. At the moment when supply and demand are in equilibrium, the number of goods that are produced for a certain unit of time, can be considered the equilibrium and the value of their sales – the equilibrium price. This balance is called sustainable, and the cost at the slightest fluctuation will seek to return to his earlier position, reminding the pendulum that oscillates from side to side, trying to return to its original position.

The Equilibrium price tends to vary, it may not always be the same, or given. All due to the fact that changing its components: the demand either increases, or decreases, as indeed the sentence itself. The neoclassical school of Economics argues that all changes in price occur due to the following factors: income, time, changes in the economic sphere.

The Balance according to Marshall – this equilibrium is observed only in the goods market. It reached such a state only in the framework of free competition and nothing else. The neoclassical school of economic theory is represented not only by A. Marshall, but there are others, which are worth a mention.

The Concept of John. B. Clark

John Bites Clark

The American economist John Bates Clark used the principle of limit values for the resolution of distribution problems "social profit". How he wished to allocate the portion of each factor in the product? He took as the basis of the ratio of the factors: labour and capital, and then made the following conclusions:

  1. The numerical decrease in one factor impact will immediately decrease even if the same condition of another factor.
  2. The Market value of the share of each factor are established in full accordance with the marginal product.

Clarke put forward the concept, which States that wages of workers coincides with the size of the products that you want "to attribute" limit work. When hiring entrepreneur should not exceed certain boundary indicators, for which the staff would not bring him additional profit. Goods created “limit” by employees, and will comply with the payment of the labor invested. In other words, the marginal product equals the marginal profit. The entire payroll is presented in the form of the ultimate product, which is multiplied by the number of employed employees. The level of payment is established by the manufactured products of additional workers. The businessman's profit consists of the difference that exists between the value of the manufactured product and the share that is payroll. Clark put forward the theory that the income of the owner of the industrial case are presented in the form of interest on invested capital. Profit is the result of entrepreneurship and hard work, is formed only when the owner is innovators, constantly introducing new improvement, combined to improve the production process.

The Neoclassical direction of the school in Clark is not based on the principle of Trad, and on the basis of productivity of production factors, their contribution in the production of goods. The price is formed only by the cost of growth of goods in the application of the additional units the price factor. Performance factors are established ...
